Prophecy of the Sisters
by Michelle Zink
Why Did I Pick It Up:
The title is pretty intriguing and I needed a book. This was a cold pick - I recommended (a risk, so to speak).
The Good:
...
The Bad:
I don't love the "I" voice, as it is generally used to make readers feel there is more emotion there than there actually is. I don't know why this book is interesting. Everything is told, nothing is shown, everything feels like it is on the surface. Sigh.
The Ugly:
The narrative is a little heavy handed (for all my fathers' riches ... for example was too blatant that it pulled me from the story).
Who will love this book?
People who love historical fiction and adventure. If you weren't bothered by the writing style of Twilight, then you might enjoy this story. If writing style bothers you, then avoid this one.
How much did I like it? 3/10
Will I read more? No
