Book Review: King of Scars

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow. WOW.

First, I regret not re-reading all the previous books first. So, if you haven't read it yet, take a minute and reread at least the last book in both series first. I spent too much time not quite understanding what was happening at the beginning.

Okay, now for the book. Nikolai was always my favorite character in the Shadow and Bone series. I'm serious, go back and look at those reviews. I'll wait. Okay, believe me now? Let's continue.

Falling back into this book was like curing up in a favorite story, but there were new tales to be told. Which, I suppose, is exactly what is happening here. Oh my goodness, I just couldn't stop reading.

Normally I don't love a story told from multiple points of view, with their own chapters. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever liked a book that was in that format. But this one, I LOVED this one. Sometime's Nina's chapters felt a little long, but I loved all of the stories we explored here.

Honestly, I can't say much without giving away previous books, but know if you've read the others, you're going to LOVE this newest installment in the Grishaverse.
