Book Review: The Hollow City

The Hollow City
by Ransom Riggs

Why Did I Pick It Up:

I read the first book and really enjoyed the uniqueness of the story (not to mention those awesome pictures). Plus, I needed to try out our new eBook vender at the library :)

The Good:

Like the last book, the story follows these unique characters and presents those oh so cool pictures. It picks up RIGHT where the last book left off, so there isn't any catching up to do.

The Bad:

This book wasn't nearly as compelling for me. A big part of this is my own fault because I don't typically like sequels, but I tried to read this one. The story is much the same, but I just couldn't get into it.

The Ugly:

I didn't finish it. I'm not ashamed.

Who will love this book?

If you liked the first one and like to read series, then you will probably love this. I didn't finish it, so that is all the recommending I can do.

How much did I like it? 5/10

Will I read more?

Probably not. The first book was so unique I found it compelling, now this next one was unique, but in the same way as the first. It just didn't hold my attention.
