Book Review: Sea of Shadows

Why Did I Pick It Up: It has a great cover ... yes, I'm that librarian
Genre: Fantasy

Favorite Character: Gavril Kitsune

Suggested Age Range: Middle and up ... although the next one might be more high school so keep that in mind when starting the series

Romance: No ... but yes (can I say that?)

The Good: Twins, which means too main characters, hard to keep track of, are the keeper and seeker of their little village. I won't get into what that means, but those aren't Quiddich terms, but rather magical terms that help lay people to rest that are banished to the scary forest ... yep. However, even if that sounds totally cheesy, let me guarantee it isn't. There are two girls who are young and naive, but fearless and would do anything for each other. Partner them each with a fairly untrustworthy boy whom they wouldn't survive without and might not survive with and you have a story worth reading.

The Bad: The book starts a little slow, took me a little to fall in step with everything that was going on. In fact, for a minute there, I almost stopped reading. I almost gave up, but you, yes reader you, don't give up because the ending will knock your socks off.

The Bitter Truth: Once you get into the book, you won't be able to put it down. And the ending ... well, just wait for it.

Who will love this book? If you love Fantasy and don't mind sticking with the slow start you'll like this. Although not as good as Throne of Glass, the characters have similar traits that readers will be drawn to.

How much did I like it? 8/10

Will I read more? Yes, please, right now?

Bingo 2015: None
