Thank you for the inspiration! My plans for the upcoming school year include putting up inspirational 'reading' quotes for my students. I have 2 pretty good ones so far that I've written onto chart paper and will laminate: "Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, & some others to be read only in parts; others to be read, but not curiously; and some few to be read wholly and with diligence & attention" by Frances Bacon. "If you cannot read all of your books, at any rate handle, or as it were fondle them-peer into them, let them fall open where they will, read from the first sentence that arrests the eye, set them back on the shelves with your own hands, arrange them on your own plan so that you at least know where they are. Let them be your friends; let them at any rate be your acquaintance" Winston Churchill. Thanks again!
Nina - that is such a great idea! I love book quotes and currently have them all over my office, however I'd like to decorate my own library with them some day :)
Love all the quotes, thanks for sharing your gathering.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol :)
